Bengaluru, June 24 (NationPress) BJP MLC C.T. Ravi has called on Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to demand the resignation of Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan following allegations of corruption in housing allotments made by a Congress MLA.
Addressing the press in Bengaluru, MLC C.T. Ravi remarked, “He claims he will speak to Congress MLA B.R. Patil, reach out to Minister H.K. Patil, and consult Congress MLA Raju Kage. If that's the case, are they all feeling disillusioned?”
Congress MLA B.R. Patil, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the State Policy and Planning Commission, has accused the government of widespread corruption in housing allocations and remains firm in his assertions.
MLA Raju Kage has expressed his concern over the absence of work orders for development projects for over two years and threatened to resign.
Law Minister H. K. Patil has written to the CM, highlighting negligence regarding illegal mining cases and urged recovery of the lost resources.
C.T. Ravi stated, “This issue transcends mere corruption; it's about stealing homes intended for the underprivileged. Inviting these leaders for discussions should not serve as a mere cover-up.”
“If you (CM Siddaramaiah) are genuinely committed to integrity and justice for the marginalized, then you must demand the resignation of Minister Zameer Khan and initiate an investigation by a sitting judge via a judicial committee,” he stressed.
C.T. Ravi further asserted, “There is no Congress without corruption, and no corruption without Congress. They are inseparably linked. The corruption of Congress is evident to anyone without the need for any investigation.”
He emphasized that even without B.R. Patil’s comments, the corruption situation is clear to all. Quoting businessman Mohandas Pai, he noted that builders in Bengaluru are facing challenges and have voiced their concerns.
“To get a plan sanctioned today, one has to pay a bribe of Rs 100 per square foot. For land use changes, it’s Rs 25 lakh per acre. The government is accepting bribes for everything,” C.T. Ravi alleged.
“In the Minority Welfare Department, grants are only received after paying bribes, and that's just the initial payment. Additional bribes are necessary for bill approvals, obtaining NOCs, and commencing work,” he claimed.
When questioned about reports of several Congress MLAs expressing frustration over their inability to lay foundation stones or construct drains in their constituencies, Ravi replied, “This reflects the deep-seated frustration among many legislators. Some say it openly, others do not—but many feel the same way. If this is the situation for ruling party MLAs, one can only imagine the plight of Opposition MLAs.”
