Is Rahul Gandhi on a Path to a Century of Defeats? BJP Comments on Bihar Poll Trends
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bengaluru, Nov 14 (NationPress) As preliminary counting trends indicated a significant lead for the NDA in the Bihar elections, the Karnataka BJP took a jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by extending their congratulations for his achievement of "marching toward a century of defeats".
The Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, remarked on social media, "Kudos to Rahul Gandhi, who is progressing toward a century of defeats."
"While one might count the stars in the night sky, tracking the number of elections lost by the Congress under Rahul Gandhi proves to be quite a challenge," he quipped.
The Congress party was fully aware that the RJD–Congress Mahagathbandhan, infamous for its "jungle raj notoriety", stood little chance against the NDA administration in Bihar, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, which has gained "public favor through effective governance, a corruption-free administration, and development-focused politics".
"Hence, Rahul Gandhi concocted the narrative of 'vote theft' to mislead the public and evade humiliation," Ashoka criticized.
Nevertheless, the astute electorate of Bihar has unambiguously dismissed the Congress party’s and Rahul Gandhi's "vote theft" theatrics, once again delivering a clear mandate to the NDA alliance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar, Ashoka stated.
The Congress-led government in Karnataka, which has already "lost" public favor, is assured of being "eliminated", he emphasized.
"My sincere congratulations to all leaders and workers of the NDA alliance, including the BJP unit of Bihar and JD(U), whose efforts were crucial in securing the NDA's triumph," Ashoka expressed.
Earlier, while discussing the exit polls forecasting an NDA win in Bihar, D.K. Shivakumar, the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President, stated that he does not subscribe to the validity of exit polls.
He highlighted that the media had not anticipated the Congress victory in Karnataka based on exit polls.
"The electorate will either bless us or turn us away - that's the essence of democracy. Every politician encounters defeat at some stage," he noted.
