New Delhi, May 30 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed its shock and disapproval regarding Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's recent Jiu-Jitsu training session with martial arts enthusiasts. They questioned whether this reflects the Opposition’s definition of leadership amidst a critical national security situation.
BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya utilized X on Friday to share an image of Rahul Gandhi during his recent Jiu-Jitsu training, where he was seen surrounded by various female enthusiasts, including party workers and officials.
Malviya suggested that the Jiu-Jitsu session held in Delhi last weekend was merely to 'boost Rahul Gandhi’s ego'.
Criticizing the Leader of Opposition (LoP), he remarked, 'While Indian delegations are abroad promoting the success of Operation Sindoor and the Prime Minister is touring the states, what is Congress engaged in? Enough is enough.'
'Is this the Leader of the Opposition’s interpretation of leadership during a national security crisis?' he questioned in his post.
On the other hand, the Congress party did not release any photos or videos from Rahul Gandhi’s Jiu-Jitsu session on their X account, unlike previous occasions where his extensive video interactions with students and gig workers were widely circulated.
However, a few Congress officials shared a photo with the LoP and expressed their admiration for the 'Gentle Art'.
Manish Tiwari, National co-ordinator of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), shared an image with Rahul and noted on X, 'Today I gained insight into the 'Gentle Art' of life, where Jiu-Jitsu strengthens not just the body but also the mind and soul. Spent 4 hours and 30 minutes discussing life, not politics with Rahul Gandhi ji.'
Dhivya Marunthiah, a self-identified political activist, tweeted, 'I’m still in disbelief after an amazing 4-hour interactive session with Rahul Gandhi, discussing not only Jiu-Jitsu but also the art of transforming conflict into compassion.'
Jiu-Jitsu is a style of Japanese martial arts that focuses on self-defense and discourages violent aggression.
Further criticizing, Malviya asserted that female Congress workers were summoned to the national capital last week for Rahul to demonstrate his Jiu-Jitsu techniques.
He questioned, 'What does such messaging signify, especially during this alarming period for national security?'
Rahul Gandhi’s training session and accompanying photo opportunity are likely to ignite further controversy, as the BJP appears poised to criticize the LoP for his perceived 'neglect' of national security while focusing on personal matters, during a time when both ruling and Opposition members are uniting to confront Pakistan.
