New Delhi, June 8 (NationPress) The Janata Dal United (JD-U) has strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi's recent remarks aimed at the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar, with senior leaders delivering a pointed rebuttal to the Leader of Opposition (LoP) on Sunday.

The JD(U) figures accused Gandhi of being politically immature, labeling his ‘selective criticism’ as both contradictory and politically driven.

During a public gathering at the ‘Samvidhan Suraksha Sammelan’ in Rajgir, Nalanda on Friday, Rahul Gandhi claimed that Bihar had become the “crime capital of India” under the NDA administration. This assertion sparked immediate backlash from JD(U) representatives, who dismissed it as a worn-out political strategy.

In an interview with IANS, JD-U senior leader K.C. Tyagi remarked, “Rahul Gandhi is reverting to outdated tactics, but the populace of Bihar is increasingly politically savvy today.”

Responding to Gandhi's op-ed accusing the BJP of ‘match-fixing’ during the Maharashtra Assembly elections and manipulating electoral results, Tyagi advised the Congress leader to adopt a more constructive approach rather than resorting to public allegations.

“I encourage Rahul Gandhi to consult with the Election Commission alongside his team instead of merely delivering speeches or penning articles to seek clarity on his concerns,” Tyagi stated.

JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar was particularly scathing, questioning Gandhi’s inconsistent reactions to election results.

“Rahul Gandhi, as the Leader of the Opposition, should embody the qualities of a serious politician. When you secure electoral victories, you don’t attribute credit to the Election Commission, yet you enjoy the associated power. Conversely, when in opposition and facing losses, you begin to question everything,” Neeraj Kumar noted.

In a satirical remark, he added, “What kind of medicine are you taking? When victorious, you commend the EVMs and the EC, but when you lose, you shift blame to both. Please inform the nation about the name of this medicine. Is it Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Allopathic, or imported from Italy?”

Point of View

It's crucial to remain impartial. The ongoing dispute between JD-U and Rahul Gandhi highlights the need for constructive political discourse. While accusations can energize political bases, they often detract from collaborative governance and addressing pressing issues. The focus should shift towards genuine dialogue that benefits the electorate.
