Bengaluru, Sep 10 (NationPress) The BJP in Karnataka has criticized the Congress-led government over the recent violence during the Ganesh Visarjan in Maddur, Mandya district.
During a press conference in Bengaluru, BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra questioned, "Are we residing in Pakistan or India? This Congress-led administration is fostering such a troubling environment. Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah accuses the BJP of disrupting the state's peace. Only divine intervention can rescue him."
Vijayendra asserted that Bajrang Dal members are being barred from entering Chitradurga.
Stating that he and his MLAs will visit Maddur to gather information, Vijayendra mentioned, "We aim to understand the truth and reassure Hindu activists and leaders of our commitment. This situation is unavoidable. The state government must be accountable for the current unrest."
The BJP leader alleged that since the Congress government assumed power in Karnataka, Hindus have been unable to peacefully celebrate the Ganesh festival.
In response to the Bhadravathi Congress MLA's wish to be reborn as a Muslim, Vijayendra remarked: "Why wait? He should convert to Islam now."
The BJP leader condemned Congress members for blaming Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leaders for seeking attention.
"Whenever Hindu activists face targeting and degradation, whenever the government takes anti-Hindu actions and belittles Hindu culture, the BJP will steadfastly support Hindu activists, and we will persist in doing so," he asserted.
Regarding the violence, he noted, "If numerous individuals sought refuge in a mosque with stones, the police have utterly failed in their duties."
As of now, police have apprehended 22 individuals in connection with the stone-pelting incident and are pursuing seven additional suspects.
