Kolkata, Sep 25 (NationPress) The national president of BJP, J.P. Nadda, revealed on Thursday that Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav has been appointed as the head of the party's campaign for the pivotal West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled for next year.

Additionally, the party has designated Lok Sabha member and former chief minister of Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, as Yadav's deputy. This announcement was made by the party’s central leadership in a notification issued on Thursday afternoon.

Sources within the West Bengal state committee of BJP indicated that both Yadav and Deb are expected to convene a meeting with leading state party figures in the upcoming days to formulate an initial campaign strategy.

Earlier this month, a “coordination meeting” was held between the leadership of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and state BJP leaders in Kolkata, focusing on next year’s assembly elections.

Political analysts believe that the rapid announcement of Yadav and Deb as campaign leaders, following the RSS meeting, underscores the BJP's determination to kickstart the campaign process promptly.

In the previous month, the BJP's state unit completed the establishment of booth committees for the majority of polling booths across West Bengal.

Out of a total of 81,000 polling booths in the state, booth committees have been formed for 65,000. However, the verification process for 15,000 of these booths is still ongoing and is expected to conclude shortly.

Furthermore, the BJP's state unit has begun deploying “vistaraks” across all 294 constituencies. If everything proceeds as planned, the deployment will be finalized by the end of this month.
