Quetta, Aug 15 (NationPress) The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has expressed strong disapproval regarding the recent declaration by the United States, which categorizes its elite unit Majeed Brigade as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO). The group condemned this action as a deviation from ground realities and an implicit endorsement of colonial narratives by a global power.
According to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, this decision comes as no surprise and does not impose additional pressure. He emphasized that the Baloch Liberation Army serves as a resistance force, dedicated exclusively to opposing the military domination of the occupying state and striving for the liberation of its occupied homeland.
Jeeyand pointed out that Pakistan forcibly occupied Balochistan in 1948, and the BLA is a continuation of that resistance movement. He described the group as the armed embodiment of Baloch national pride, asserting that it does not seek external validation or international approval.
“The accusations made by the US reflect the same narrative that Pakistan has propagated for decades. Attacking civilians is not part of our manifesto. Furthermore, we are not obligated to justify our struggle to anyone, nor will we conform to any narrative that serves state interests,” the BLA statement conveyed.
Stressing that all their operations target the Pakistani Army, Frontier Corps, intelligence networks, death squads, and their collaborator gangs in Balochistan, the spokesperson reiterated that their struggle is for their motherland—the land of their ancestors, which was seized by Pakistan through force. He clarified that the militant group does not oppose the people of Pakistan or any global power but aims its resistance solely against the occupier, whoever it may be, and will continue until the occupation ceases.
The spokesperson affirmed that the group adheres to the rules of war outlined in international humanitarian law, specifically Common Article III of the Geneva Conventions. The BLA operates as an organized military force, conducting its operations in strict accordance with these standards, which safeguard combatants' rights and civilian protection. He highlighted that the militant group has consistently upheld these principles and noted that non-state resistance movements worldwide have received moral, legal, and political recognition under this framework.
Jeeyand claimed that the US decision coincides with a time when Balochistan’s abundant mineral wealth has attracted global capitalist interests. He alleged that Pakistan is extending these resources to foreign corporations, with plans underway to transform Balochistan into a silent economic colony.
BLA spokesperson remarked.
Jeeyand urged the international community to visit Balochistan, observe the ground realities, see the mass graves where Baloch youth are buried, and look into the eyes of mothers whose sons have been missing for decades.
He called for witnessing the cities where free speech is prohibited and the villages subjected to Pakistani military operations conducted under the cover of darkness, and then determining whether organized resistance against such oppression constitutes terrorism or the defense of human dignity.
Highlighting that the BLA is a disciplined resistance movement founded on national vision and respectful engagement with the world, he noted that Pakistan has violated every principle upon which civilized nations are built. The BLA spokesperson pointed out historical records that illustrate how Pakistan has repeatedly broken agreements and trust for self-interest, characterizing it as an unreliable state.
The statement concluded with a commitment that the BLA will not retreat from its ideological, military, or revolutionary duties.
“We will not permit state propaganda, international labels, or global decisions to hinder our progress. Our struggle will persist until we achieve Baloch national liberation and sovereignty,” it added.
