Key Takeaways
Quetta, Feb 1 (NationPress) Several armed groups, political leaders, and segments of the Baloch populace rallied behind the Baloch Liberation Army's (BLA) current 'Operation Herof 2.0', as the organization asserted that its fighters were maintaining positions in various districts across Balochistan province more than 15 hours post the commencement of coordinated assaults against Pakistan's security forces.
In a recent update, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch noted that operations were ongoing in “numerous cities and significant areas,” while insisting that Pakistani security personnel were under “intense pressure.”
He mentioned that BLA fighters continued to secure “control at several locations,” emphasizing that the ground conditions were “constantly evolving.”
“Comprehensive updates and final evaluations will be provided at the right moment based on operational developments,” the statement indicated.
Previously, the BLA highlighted that the “role of the Baloch nation has been pivotal” in executing the operation. The group reported that local communities aided by “facilitating mobility, communications, and ground control,” as per The Balochistan Post.
The organization claimed that public support had “neutralised enemy propaganda and fear,” allowing for sustained pressure on military installations across various districts.
“This collective unity has been a crucial element in the operation's continuation and the preservation of control,” stated the BLA.
Support for 'Operation Herof 2.0' also emerged from the United Baloch Army (UBA), another armed faction that identifies as “pro-independence.”
The UBA officially declared its endorsement of the operation and expressed its intention to engage in the conflict within its “capacity and means.”
In a statement, UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch conveyed that the group was offering “full moral, intellectual, and practical support” to those involved in the operation. He commended what he referred to as the “bravery, perseverance, and national pride” exhibited by Baloch fighters and affirmed that the UBA stood in “complete solidarity” with them.
The UBA urged all Baloch organizations and activists to “show unity, develop a shared strategy, and accept collective responsibility,” calling upon them to stand “morally, intellectually, and socially” alongside those executing the attacks. The group stressed that the current confrontational phase “is not confined to any single group or class,” but signifies a broader fight for “national dignity, freedom, and sovereignty over Baloch lands.”
The group further encouraged public cooperation and social support “wherever Baloch youth and national activists are present,” emphasizing the goal of transforming the uprising into an “organized, united, and resilient collective movement.”
Meanwhile, exiled Baloch leader Mehran Marri also expressed his backing for the ongoing operation.
Speaking to international media during the second phase of “Operation Herof 2.0,” Marri remarked that Balochistan had entered an “extremely critical phase.” He noted that the Baloch people have sought global attention for decades but are now convinced that “freedom will not be handed down as a gift by any foreign power.”
“The Baloch are not awaiting Trump, nor relying on any global authority,”
he stated, adding that the movement has evolved into “a national liberation struggle” encompassing “children to elders.”
Marri characterized Pakistan as an “unstable state” oscillating between Chinese and American influence, while asserting that the Baloch continue to “defend their lands.” He insisted that the community would not gain its rights “from anyone’s coattails,” but solely through their “own struggle and sacrifices.”
At the launch of “Operation Herof 2.0,” the BLA shared a video message from its commander-in-chief, Bashir Zeb Baloch, urging individuals to “come out of their homes” and join what he described as a decisive phase of the armed movement.
“This battle does not belong to any single person but to the collective consciousness,”
he stated. “When a nation stands united, the enemy cannot escape defeat, regardless of its strength. The Baloch nation is called upon to step forward and participate in Operation Herof.”
