Mumbai, April 7 (NationPress) Actress Ameesha Patel and director Siddharth Anand, renowned for films like ‘Pathaan’, ‘War’, and ‘Fighter’, have expressed their strong discontent regarding comedian Zakir Khan’s comments about industry figures unhappy with the success of the film ‘Dhurandhar’.

On Tuesday, Ameesha Patel took to her X account, previously known as Twitter, stating, “DUDE, Stop spreading NEGATIVITY! The film industry has recognized and respected DHURANDHAR! Icons such as SRK, SALMAN, SUNNY, HRITHIK, AJAY, and others have not only delivered one but over 25 mega hits and will continue to do so. CHILL, GADAR has ruled for years and will keep doing so.”

During a recent awards ceremony, Zakir Khan, who was hosting the event, remarked, “No matter how many congratulatory posts you share, how many stories you post, or how often you claim in interviews that ‘this is my favorite film’, the truth is that ‘Dhurandhar’ burns everyone.”

Although his comment elicited laughter and was perceived by some as a light-hearted tease, it has sparked criticism from certain industry members.

Siddharth Anand also responded critically to the joke, stating, “Juhu-Bandra individuals have contributed to all ATBBs (all-time blockbusters) over the last 50 years. One must be quite foolish to disregard their impact.”

The recent awards show has faced scrutiny due to several controversial comments made by its hosts.

Additionally, another host made a pointed remark about Rajpal Yadav, referencing his financial troubles, stating, “Regardless of fluctuations in the dollar rate, you must repay the same amount.”

Rajpal Yadav was previously convicted by the Delhi High Court in a cheque bounce case, having been accused by Murli Projects Pvt Ltd for failing to repay the loan.

Recently, the court inquired if he had taken the loan, to which he affirmed. The court then informed him that he had been granted multiple opportunities but had not complied.
