Mumbai, April 12 (NationPress) In light of the ongoing debate surrounding the alleged leak of Vijay Thalapathy's "Jana Nayagan", the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has released a statement refuting any connections to the supposed leak.
In their official communication, the CBFC labeled these allegations as “baseless and false.”
According to a statement disseminated via the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of Maharashtra's official X account, it stated, “Reports suggesting that the Tamil film 'Jana Nayagan' has been leaked from the CBFC are baseless and false.”
The Board clarified that the digital copy of "Jana Nayagan" was returned to its producers last month.
“The access to the film is password-protected, and the Key Delivery Message (KDM) is exclusively with the producer/filmmaker. Without a valid KDM, the film cannot be accessed or viewed. The Digital Cinema Package (DCP) for 'Jana Nayagan' was provided to the applicant in Mumbai on March 17, with proper acknowledgment, and has remained with them since,” the statement elaborated.
Recently, snippets from the highly anticipated Tamil film "Jana Nayagan" appeared online.
It is crucial to mention that the film's release has been postponed for several months due to disagreements with the CBFC.
In response to the leak, several renowned figures in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Rishab Shetty, and Vijay Deverakonda, condemned the act of piracy, showing their solidarity with "Jana Nayagan" and its lead actor.
The producers also urged the public to avoid engaging with any leaked material.
KVN Productions stated, “As the Producers and exclusive copyright holders of the film 'Jana Nayagan', we have observed that certain scenes and clips from the film have been unlawfully accessed, duplicated, and circulated by unidentified individuals, posing a significant threat of digital piracy.”
The production house further added, “We hereby inform that downloading, viewing, storing, forwarding, sharing, uploading, or circulating of such leaked content through platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, websites, torrents, or any other medium is a criminal act and violates copyright laws.”
