CBSE post-result activities portal opens June 1 for Class 12 re-evaluation
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced on Friday, 29 May 2026 that its Post-Result Activities portal will go live on 1 June 2026, enabling Class 12 students to file applications for verification and re-evaluation of their answer books. The decision follows a series of technical glitches that had forced the board to repeatedly extend earlier deadlines.
What Students Can Do on the Portal
Once operational, the portal will allow eligible students to apply for verification — which covers retotalling of marks at a fee of ₹100 — and re-evaluation, which costs ₹25 per question. The option is available only to students who have already received scanned copies of their evaluated answer books.
So far, approximately 4 lakh students have accessed around 11 lakh scanned answer sheets through the portal, according to the CBSE.
What the CBSE Said
In a post on X, the CBSE stated: 'To ensure a transparent and glitch-free process for verification and re-evaluation of answer books of students who intend to submit their applications on the Post-Result Activities portal, it has been decided that the designated portal will now be operational from 1st June 2026.'
The board also directed students with queries to contact the CBSE Tele-Counselling Helpline at 1800 11 8004 or email resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in.
How Re-Evaluation Works
Upon receiving a re-evaluation application, subject experts will review the relevant questions and update marks if discrepancies are identified. The process is designed to uphold evaluation standards while giving students a structured redressal mechanism.
Minister Reviews CBSE Post-Result Process
On Thursday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a review meeting at CBSE headquarters in New Delhi to assess issues related to evaluation and post-result services for Class 12 examinations. He directed officials to resolve student concerns in a 'timely, transparent, and amicable manner,' according to a Ministry of Education statement.
Pradhan reviewed the progress of post-result services, with focus on strengthening student support systems, improving the evaluation and monitoring framework, and enhancing the CBSE digital platform. He reiterated the government's commitment to a student-centric examination system.
Scale of This Year's Examinations
Officials informed the Minister that nearly 18 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 examinations this year, generating approximately 98 lakh answer sheets and nearly 40 crore scanned pages — underscoring the logistical complexity that contributed to the portal's earlier technical difficulties.
With the revised launch date of 1 June 2026, students and parents will be watching closely to see whether the board delivers a stable, glitch-free experience this time.
