Hyderabad, June 29 (NationPress) Former youth world champion Ankushita Boro demonstrated her exceptional skills on Day 2 of the Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament, successfully reaching the semifinals in the 65kg category after a decisive 5:0 victory over Rajasthan's pugilist Parthvi on Sunday.
In the 51kg division, local hero and two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen enthralled the Hyderabad audience with an impressive 5:0 win against Kalpana. Nikhat began her tournament with a convincing 4:1 triumph over Uttar Pradesh’s Rashi Sharma the previous day.
Organized by the Telangana Boxing Federation under the auspices of the Boxing Federation of India and the Sports Authority of Telangana, this tournament gathers prominent athletes and rising talents from across the nation. With 15 participating teams—including the top 12 from the recent Elite Nationals, host Telangana, the SAI NCOE Combined team, and the TOPS Talent & Development squad—this event forms part of the BFI’s ongoing mission to enhance the national pool and discover future champions.
