Chhattisgarh's CM Vishnu Deo Sai Provides Rs 10,000 Aid to Landless Labourers

Raipur, March 25 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, announced a direct transfer of Rs 500 crore into the bank accounts of approximately 5 lakh landless agricultural workers across the state as part of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Agricultural Labourer Welfare Scheme.
During his visit to the Baloda Bazar district, the Chief Minister provided Rs 10,000 to each of the 495,965 beneficiaries as annual financial support. The event was held at the sports ground of Pandit Chakrapani Shukla Swami Atmanand Excellence School, where Sai engaged with several recipients.
The initiative aims to offer direct assistance to landless households, benefiting 22,028 families from the Baiga and Gunia communities. In Baloda Bazar alone, 23,568 beneficiaries received over Rs 23.56 crore.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai also distributed benefits from various government initiatives to around 50 beneficiaries. This included cheques of Rs 15 lakh to 13 self-help groups from the Women and Child Development Department, fishing nets and ice boxes to six beneficiaries from the Fisheries Department, SVAMITVA cards to 10 beneficiaries, and sprayer pumps to four beneficiaries from the Agriculture Department.
The Chief Minister conducted a video conference with recipients from Jashpur, Janjgir-Champa, Balod, Gariaband, and Kondagaon districts to check on their welfare and the utilization of the funds.
One beneficiary from Jashpur expressed plans to use the funds for goat farming, while another from Janjgir-Champa indicated intentions to build a home. Others shared their strategies for leveraging the assistance for better livelihoods.
Additionally, Sai personally met with Savita Yadav, a recipient from Baloda Bazar, to discuss her circumstances in detail.
During his address, the Chief Minister reiterated the government's dedication to the welfare of landless laborers and tribal communities. He stated that the direct benefit transfer would significantly enhance their economic status and provide essential financial security.
Following the transfer ceremony and beneficiary interactions, Chief Minister Sai held a public meeting in the district. This financial aid is regarded as a crucial move towards fulfilling the government’s pledge to support the most vulnerable segments of rural society in Chhattisgarh.
