Raipur, Jan 21 (NationPress) The government of Chhattisgarh executed a significant administrative reshuffle on Wednesday, announcing the transfer of three IAS officers to pivotal positions within the realms of education, urban development, and district administration.
These modifications are anticipated to have a substantial impact on policy execution and operational efficiency across the concerned departments.
Kiran Kaushal, an IAS officer from the 2009 batch, has been designated as Commissioner of Samagra Shiksha, the state's all-encompassing education initiative.
Alongside this primary role, she will also take on the additional responsibility of Managing Director for the Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation.
The government has highlighted the importance of this transition, revealing that upon her assuming the role of Commissioner for Samagra Shiksha, this non-cadre position will be elevated to a cadre role, aligning it with the senior time scale of the Indian Administrative Service concerning pay, prestige, and accountability, as stipulated by Rule-12 of the IAS (Pay) Rules 2016.
In another significant appointment, Avnish Kumar Sharan, also from the 2009 batch, has been granted broadened duties in urban planning and governance.
Currently serving as Commissioner of Town and Country Planning while also holding additional responsibilities as Commissioner of the Housing Board, he has now been named Chief Executive Officer of the Raipur Development Authority. This multifaceted role places him at the forefront of spearheading infrastructure projects, city expansion initiatives, and coordinated urban development strategies in the state capital, Raipur.
In a noteworthy development in the sensitive Bastar region, Akash Chhikara, an IAS officer from the 2017 batch, is set to assume the role of Collector for Bastar district. Before this transfer, he was serving as Joint Secretary in the Housing and Environment Department while also taking on roles as Chief Executive Officer of the Raipur Development Authority and Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority.
His assignment to Bastar, recognized for its administrative and security challenges, is viewed as a crucial step to bolster governance in one of Chhattisgarh's most strategically vital regions.
