Was Acting an ‘Absolute Obsession’ for Chris Hemsworth?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Dec 16 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has expressed her frustration towards filmmaker Aditya Dhar for making audiences wait for the much-anticipated sequel of the blockbuster “Dhurandhar”, labeling it as “truly terrible.”
During an episode of the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, the 42-year-old actor, Chris Hemsworth, shared, “Once I locked into the idea that I was going to become an actor, it was an absolute obsession.”
At that stage in his life, Hemsworth acknowledged that he underestimated the challenges he would face in pursuit of his dreams, as noted by femalefirst.co.uk.
He expressed that his ambitions in acting served as a means of escapism. “There was no doubt that was what I was going to do. There was a naivety about the reality of how difficult that was going to be. But I guess it was sort of an escapism,” he remarked.
In 2024, actress Anya Taylor-Joy praised Chris as “the most wonderful” co-star she has had the pleasure to work with.
Starring together in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Anya expressed her joy in collaborating with the “kind-hearted” actor. “I think we’re fortunate that our relationship is nothing like the characters in this film, because wanting to kill your co-star would be really challenging,” she told Access Hollywood.
“He’s just the most wonderful, kind-hearted, big-hearted individual. We have a lot of fun. [I’m] very lucky,” she added.
In a similar vein, Hemsworth reflected positively on his collaboration with Anya. He noted, “We had a rehearsal, and immediately I sensed how passionate you were about the character and fiercely protective of her, which only benefits everyone else on set. Everything I was doing was then informed by Anya’s decisions.”
The two maintained a constructive creative dialogue throughout the filming process.
He explained, “I was working with the younger actress (Alyla Browne) playing Furiosa as the character of Dementus, and Anya would be observing and saying, ‘I’m not sure she’d respond like this,’ prompting adjustments. Having that kind of ownership and passion enriches everything, and I found that really inspiring. We had such a fun time.”
