Is Chrissy Teigen Embracing Sobriety Again?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Jan 29 (NationPress) Chrissy Teigen, the spouse of renowned musician John Legend, proudly reflects on her path to sobriety.
She revealed that she has successfully maintained sobriety for 52 days after previously allowing alcohol back into her life, as reported by Female First UK.
Teigen initially stopped drinking in December 2020 after acknowledging that her struggles with alcohol had resurfaced. She credits Carl Radke, a star from Summer House who shared his own sobriety journey on her Self-Conscious podcast, for inspiring a significant change in her life.
In a heartfelt Instagram message, she expressed, "I’m grateful to @carlradke. Not only for the years of entertainment he has given us on Bravo but also for his transparency regarding his sobriety journey. I’ve faced my own challenges. After being sober for a little over a year, I returned to drinking, promising myself it would be 'mindful.' I wanted to enjoy a glass of wine on date nights with my husband and celebrate birthdays. I believed I deserved that enjoyment. That turned out to be my initial mistake—associating drinking with rewards. Soon, it spiraled into a familiar pattern for me. Quiet moments at home became synonymous with wine. My drinking times shifted from 6 PM to 4 PM, and eventually to 11 AM. I knew I was in trouble, but it hadn’t become chaotic enough for me to stop yet,” she shared.
According to Female First UK, Chrissy, who shares four children with John Legend, was also focused on a new opportunity with Star Search and was determined not to jeopardize it.
She continued, "Just days after my conversation with Carl, I decided to stop drinking again. I was in discussions for Star Search and realized there was no way I could handle that opportunity with alcohol in my dressing room.”
Chrissy expressed that this time feels different. "The main difference between now and my first attempt is that there’s no fanfare surrounding it. The first time I committed to sobriety was thrilling, and the momentum was invigorating. Now, I can’t tell if the people around me have lost faith, or if it’s me, or maybe both. It feels like an ex you’ve complained about, and then you get back together, and everyone just stops caring because who knows what will happen next?" she reflected.
"Anyway, this is quite lengthy! But I’m 52 days sober again without any desire to revert. It turns out, I can still be funny, silly, and anxious without it. Thank you, everyone, for your support! Enjoy our discussion; it truly changed my life. No big deal,” she concluded.
