Chennai, March 11 (NationPress) The public examinations for Class 10 students adhering to the State syllabus in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are set to commence on Wednesday and will run until April 6. These exams are seen as a significant educational milestone for students in both regions.
As per the School Education Department officials, this year, a total of 9,09,397 candidates will participate in the examinations. This figure includes 8,82,806 students from 12,467 schools operating under the State syllabus in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Additionally, 26,196 private candidates are expected to sit for the examination, and notably, 395 prison inmates have also registered to take the Class 10 public examination this year.
To support inclusivity, special provisions have been established for students with disabilities, ensuring they can participate in the exams without any obstacles.
A total of 12,292 differently-abled students will be assisted by scribes or interpreters during the examination.
To uphold transparency and avoid irregularities, stringent examination protocols have been implemented across all centers.
After distributing question papers, any unused copies in the examination hall will be sealed by invigilators in front of the students to ensure integrity.
For the smooth execution of the exams, 49,542 invigilators have been appointed throughout the State.
Every examination day will see over 45,000 teachers involved in supervision and administrative tasks.
To combat malpractice and ensure stringent oversight, approximately 4,800 flying squads have been assigned to conduct surprise inspections at examination venues.
Officials have also clarified that mobile phones are strictly forbidden within examination centers, applicable to both teachers and staff involved in the examination process.
Health and emergency arrangements have been established for candidates taking the examinations.
Should any student face health issues during the exam, provisions are in place for immediate transport to nearby medical facilities.
Furthermore, the School Education Department has launched a dedicated helpline for complaints and grievances concerning the examinations.
