Would George Clooney Be 'Honoured' to Work with Owen Wilson, Matthew Lillard, and Paul Dano?

Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Jan 13 (NationPress) Hollywood star George Clooney expressed that he would feel honoured to collaborate with Paul Dano, Owen Wilson, and Matthew Lillard.
During his acceptance speech at the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards last weekend, Clooney took a stand for the three actors after director Quentin Tarantino criticized their abilities on the Bret Easton Ellis podcast the previous month, as reported by ‘Female First UK’.
Receiving the Best Actor award for ‘Jay Kelly’, George remarked that the film is "about... and created by individuals who cherish actors" and expressed his discomfort with watching cruelty towards actors.
He stated, "By the way, Paul Dano, Owen Wilson, and Matthew Lillard? I would be honoured to work with those actors. Honoured. We live in a time of cruelty, and it's unnecessary to contribute to it. I’m very grateful to be here and to see all of you. Thank you for this opportunity. It’s going to be a challenging couple of years, but we’ll navigate through it together, alright?"
According to ‘Female First UK’, the ‘Pulp Fiction’ director Tarantino had listed Paul Thomas Anderson's 2007 film ‘There Will Be Blood’ as his fifth-favorite movie of the 21st century but revealed it could have ranked higher if he hadn’t been so disappointed by Dano's performance alongside Daniel Day-Lewis.
On The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast, he remarked, "There Will Be Blood would have a better chance of being number one or two if it didn’t have a major flaw, which is Paul Dano. Clearly, it was intended to be a two-hander, but it’s obvious that it isn’t. He is weak sauce, man. He’s a weak sister. Austin Butler would have excelled in that role. (Paul Dano) is just such a weak, uninteresting guy. I’m not criticizing his performance as terrible; I’m saying he’s a non-entity. I don’t have any interest in him. I don’t care for Owen Wilson, and I don’t care for Matthew Lillard either."
George is not the only celebrity who defended the actor afterward. Filmmaker Matt Reeves took to social media to praise Dano, whom he directed in the 2022 film ‘The Batman’, calling him an incredible actor.
