Matthew Lillard Explains His Wife's Reaction to Jacob Elordi Praise
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 29 (NationPress) Actor-director Matthew Lillard recently disclosed that his wife scolded him for describing Jacob Elordi as "delicious".
The 'Scream 7' star mentioned that his partner, Heather Helm, whom he married in August 2000 and with whom he shares three children, was not pleased when he publicly admired the 'Wuthering Heights' actor's looks, according to reports from 'Female First UK'.
During an appearance on the Everything Iconic podcast, host Danny Pellegrino asked Lillard whom he would select for PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2026. Lillard responded, "So, Jacob Elordi is, like…" to which Pellegrino interjected with "sculpture". Lillard continued, "I'm not allowed to say (anything) anymore. I was calling him delicious in public, and my wife's like, 'You can't say that. You've been married to me for 26 years.' But Jacob Elordi is genuinely a very handsome man."
Having tied the knot with Helm in 2000, the couple has three children: Addison (23), Macey (21), and Liam (17). Lillard also shared insights into their enduring marriage.
In an interview with 'People' magazine, he stated, "We don't go to bed angry. We’ve been married for 25 years, which is like over a century in Hollywood. The principle of 'don't go to bed angry' is quite simple. We don’t have many rules, but we emphasize clearing space. During disagreements, we engage actively, often concluding with an apology and taking responsibility for our actions."
He elaborated, "This process holds both of us accountable for what’s said and facilitates moving forward and forgiveness. Ultimately, it's essential to address the core issue, as it’s rarely about superficial matters like cleaning the kitchen but rather the underlying emotions involved."
Additionally, as reported by 'Female First UK', Matthew acknowledged that his children are indifferent to his career, regardless of his notable achievements in films like the Scream series and Scooby Doo.
He remarked, "Whether you are a father who's an accountant, plumber, or heart surgeon, the truth is, your kids simply want your love, safety, and support. My children regard my career no differently than any other kids might, and I’m not sure they’ve ever watched ‘Scream’.”
