Los Angeles, Dec 16 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Ethan Hawke has expressed his admiration for fellow actor Paul Dano, calling him a world-class human being.

The ‘Blue Moon’ star commented on the recent controversy in which director Quentin Tarantino labeled Dano as “weak sauce” and the “worst f actor in SAG”. Hawke sees this incident as a valuable lesson in handling negativity, noting that many people rose to defend and commend Paul, according to Female First UK.

During his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast, Ethan remarked, “I don’t think Paul Dano ever realized how many people cared for him. He’s going to wake up one day and learn that this director has made such hateful remarks, but anyone familiar with Quentin knows he just speaks without a filter.”

He continued, “Anyone who knows Paul understands he is a world-class human being. The outpouring of love for Paul reflects a significant lesson: you don’t need to fret over the negativity directed at you.”

Tarantino had previously cited Paul Thomas Anderson's 2007 film ‘There Will Be Blood’ as one of his top five movies of the 21st century, yet he admitted it could have rated higher if he hadn’t been disappointed by Paul’s performance alongside Daniel Day-Lewis.

On The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast, Tarantino stated, “There Will Be Blood could potentially be number one or two if it weren’t for a significant flaw, which is Paul Dano. It’s evident that it was meant to be a two-hander, but it’s glaringly obvious that it’s not. He is weak sauce, man. He’s a weak sister. Austin Butler would have excelled in that role.”

Following the backlash to his comments, several celebrities defended Paul. Filmmaker Matt Reeves, who directed Dano in the 2022 film ‘The Batman’, took to social media, calling him “an incredible actor”. Reeves tweeted, “Paul Dano is an incredible actor, and an incredible person.”

Hollywood star Ben Stiller responded to Reeves with a Hallelujah emoji and praised Dano on his own social media account, stating, “Paul Dano is f brilliant.” The ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ actor Simu Liu also offered his support for Dano.
