Dehradun, Nov 22 (NationPress) Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami officially launched the book titled 'Uttarakhand State's New Political History' by esteemed journalist Jai Singh Rawat at his official residence on Saturday. He emphasized that this publication serves as a significant and credible account of the state's political and administrative progress since its inception.

An announcement from the Chief Minister's Office revealed that the book thoroughly documents Uttarakhand's political evolution, administrative changes, and key milestones.

The event was attended by numerous dignitaries, writers, journalists, and public representatives who congratulated Rawat on his remarkable work.

Dhami praised Rawat for showcasing the 25-year political journey of Uttarakhand with exceptional clarity and authenticity, acknowledging it as a noteworthy contribution.

He pointed out that while various books discuss the state's culture, history, and folk traditions, creating a factual and analytical narrative of the post-statehood period was a formidable task that the author successfully accomplished.

The book is structured into five sections and is expected to be particularly beneficial for researchers, students, and youths preparing for administrative exams, according to the statement.

Dhami remarked that Uttarakhand faced significant political instability after its establishment, which hindered developmental progress.

“Rawat has authentically depicted this entire phase, compiling a vital historical record with the aid of rare documents and press articles,” he said.

He further noted that the task of documenting history necessitates factual precision, foresight, and integrity, commending Rawat for preserving this era with journalistic integrity and courage.

Stressing the significance of reading, the Chief Minister remarked that even in the digital age, the value of books is unparalleled. They enrich minds and safeguard knowledge in a durable form.

He encouraged individuals to promote reading by gifting books instead of flowers at public functions, stating, “This will boost reading interest and also support authors.”

Dhami also highlighted the necessity of safeguarding Uttarakhand's regional languages, such as Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari, particularly in a rapidly evolving technological landscape influenced by Artificial Intelligence.

He urged students to foster literature, folk traditions, and content creation in their native languages. The government, he mentioned, is making substantial efforts by hosting competitions and recognizing young creators who contribute through writing, music, research, and digital content in local dialects.

The Chief Minister called upon students to utilize local languages at home, in schools, and within their communities, and to actively work towards passing down the region's literature and folk culture to future generations.

He assured that the state government is initiating new measures to bolster language conservation and will persist in taking effective actions in this regard.
