New Delhi, Aug 1 (NationPress) Responding emphatically to Rahul Gandhi's support of US President Donald Trump's controversial statement regarding India's 'dead economy', BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar expressed on Friday that the Congress party fails to recognize the nation's significant economic advancements and remains blind to its progress.
“They neither perceive the reality nor admit the nation’s advancements. Global economists and leaders are acknowledging that India is progressing swiftly, emerging as one of the fastest-growing economies. Yet, Congress chooses to resist this momentum,” remarked Sarkar.
Rahul Gandhi, during a media interaction in the Parliament complex on Thursday, had voiced his agreement with Trump's assertion.
“Indeed, he is correct. Everyone is aware of this except for the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister. It is well-known that the Indian economy is a 'dead economy.' I appreciate President Trump for stating a fact... The world is aware that the Indian economy is a 'dead economy,'” the Congress leader stated.
In response, the BJP has categorically rejected this assertion, highlighting India's sustained GDP growth, increasing foreign investment, and its reputation as a leading emerging economy.
In another statement, Jagannath Sarkar criticized the Congress party's comments following the acquittal of all seven individuals accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, which includes BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt. Col. Prasad Shrikant Purohit.
“This is a significant conspiracy orchestrated by Congress. They have historically opposed the nation because it is predominantly Hindu. This is not the Congress of the past; it has transformed into a family-run entity. One should investigate their true affiliations. They have persistently acted against Hindus and India's interests. Therefore, they propagated the 'bhagwa aatankwad theory' but ultimately failed,” Sarkar asserted.
Nearly 17 years after the Malegaon blast, which resulted in six fatalities, a special NIA court in Mumbai acquitted all accused on Thursday, citing insufficient evidence and the prosecution's inability to substantiate the charges.
