Mumbai, July 31 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday accused the Congress party of depicting the Hindu community as terrorists. He claimed that the UPA government, led by the grand old party, orchestrated a conspiracy and should offer an apology to the community following the verdict in the Malegaon bomb blast case.
Fadnavis told reporters that the Congress-led UPA government attempted to create a narrative around Hindu terrorism, falsely portraying Hindus as terrorists. “The court has debunked this narrative today. The Congress must apologize to all those affected by these actions. An apology is warranted for the entire Hindu community,” he stated.
“I will not place blame on the police, as they were under pressure. Following the 9/11 attacks, Islamic terrorism emerged, and the UPA government then propagated the idea of Hindu and saffron terrorism. Terrorism has never been saffron, is not, and will never be,” he added.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule remarked that the verdict goes beyond a judicial ruling, exposing a long-standing political conspiracy aimed at defamation. “The court has clearly stated that there was no solid evidence for any of the allegations. More seriously, the Congress has deliberately employed the term Hindu terrorism in its propaganda, attempting to tarnish the Hindu community and its beliefs globally,” he asserted.
Bawankule claimed that the Congress committed an unforgivable act by associating Hinduism with terrorism, a faith that has symbolized humanity and tolerance for centuries. “Today, the court has vindicated the truth, and Congress must now apologize to the Hindu community! A Hindu has never been a terrorist, and never will be. This verdict serves as a resounding rebuke to those who maligned Hindus,” he emphasized.
Ports and Shipping Minister Nitesh Rane declared that the verdict is a significant blow to those who have sought to defame the Hindu community. “No one should attempt to discredit the Hindu community in the future. The evidence is mounting that the color of terrorism and jihad is green. During the Congress administration, false charges were levied against Hindutva activists, unjustly entangling them,” he alleged.
Rane stated that it is impossible to ensnare Hindutva activists under a government that upholds Hindutva ideology, affirming that it has once again been demonstrated that Hindus are safe in a Hindu nation. “Those who have defamed should apologize to the Hindu community. They ought to go to a temple and seek forgiveness,” he urged.
State BJP chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhye noted that the verdict has delivered a significant setback to the Congress for its attempts to sow discord against the Hindu community through a fabricated narrative of “saffron terrorism” and “Hindu terrorism.” “This ruling has dismantled the Congress's scheme to tarnish the minority community by falsely accusing seven Hindu nationalists in this matter. The court has reinforced justice by acquitting the accused,” he remarked.
Upadhye alleged that during the incident 17 years ago, the Congress government accused individuals like Sadhvi Pragya Singh, Colonel Purohit, and others of being criminals, subjecting them to inhumane treatment. “To propagate the false narrative of Hindu terrorism, these accused faced severe torture to extract confessions. This has now been proven to be a widespread conspiracy aimed at defaming the Hindu community for political gain,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde criticized P Chidambaram for attempting to cultivate the narrative of ‘saffron terrorism’ while questioning the credibility of claims surrounding attacks from Pakistan. “Did Chidambaram label Indian citizens as terrorists? The Congress must confront him on these issues. In an effort to camouflage their inability to combat terrorism, they propagated the ‘saffron terrorism’ narrative. Today, the truth has come to light,” he concluded.
