Raichur (Karnataka), Oct 22 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, D.K. Shivakumar, asserted on Wednesday that the Congress government is poised to reclaim power in 2028.
At a gathering of Congress workers held at Panchamukhi in Raichur district, Shivakumar, who also serves as the President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, emphasized, “The party holds greater significance than any individual. We must honor the party, not individual members. I have steered clear of factional politics. Had I chosen to engage in it, I could have pursued numerous opportunities. Our existence today is thanks to the Congress party.”
“The Congress will re-establish its government in 2028, and it’s crucial to start preparing for this future. Many individuals are attempting to leave the BJP to join our ranks. Even in rural areas, people are stepping forward to embrace our party. Let’s welcome all who believe in the Congress ideology and leadership,” he conveyed to attendees.
“I serve as Deputy Chief Minister due to the party; Basanagouda Daddal is an MLA because of it; N.S. Bosaraju, although not an MLA, has been appointed as a minister due to his 45 years of dedicated service to the party, including efforts in Telangana,” he added.
“Thanks to the Congress coming into power, numerous party workers have been entrusted with responsibilities across various boards and corporations, including the Guarantee Committees. Those who work selflessly are acknowledged by both the party and society. Regardless of your position, do not perceive it as trivial. In politics, anyone can ascend to any level,” he advised.
“You must assume leadership at the booth level. Our booth-level agents (BLA) are crucial for our victories — they are the true leaders. Your opposition should be directed towards the BJP and JD(S), not against fellow Congress members. Organization is paramount, not enmity. We have established a robust structure for you. Our government has achieved what no other state government has accomplished. Upon taking office, we implemented five guarantee schemes, which were ridiculed by the BJP. Former CM Yediyurappa claimed he wouldn’t tolerate even a grain of rice being cut from the ration. In our first cabinet session, we approved all five guarantee schemes,” he stated.
“In our nation, temples for Lord Hanuman can be found everywhere, unlike those for King Dasharatha, the father of Lord Rama. Hanuman was a devoted servant. Society recognizes those who serve it selflessly. The Panchamukhi Hanuman stands as a testament to this. If we engage in selfless service with a spirit of impartiality, society will undoubtedly acknowledge our efforts,” he urged party members.
“AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge now occupies the same position once held by Mahatma Gandhi over a century ago. He was instrumental in enforcing Article 371(J) for this area. When L.K. Advani claimed it was unachievable, Kharge made it a reality. The initiatives of the Congress government extend beyond its supporters — they aim to benefit all citizens. An additional Rs 5,000 crore grant is allocated yearly for the development of Kalyana Karnataka,” he concluded.
Earlier, in a significant turn of events, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son, MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, remarked that his father is nearing the end of his political journey.
He further stated that at this pivotal moment, Minister for PWD Satish Jarkiholi will lead those who advocate for scientific and progressive thought. However, he later clarified that there is no change in leadership within Karnataka.
These remarks carry weight amidst swirling rumors of a potential leadership change and ongoing discussions regarding a power-sharing agreement in Karnataka.
