Bhopal, March 13 (NationPress) An alarming event transpired in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, located nearly 50 km from Indore, as a gang impersonating Income Tax (IT) officers forcefully entered the residence of a contractor and made away with cash and valuables last Friday.
The incident took place around 11 a.m. when a group of individuals approached contractor Rajkumar Malvi, claiming they were from the Income Tax department.
According to police reports, the unidentified intruders informed the family that a complaint concerning black money had been lodged against them, prompting them to search the premises. They insisted on accessing a cupboard and seized the key.
After gathering the treasures, the criminals locked Malvi and his wife in a room from the outside before making their escape, the police indicated.
The situation was revealed when Rajkumar Malvi, confined inside, raised an alarm that attracted the attention of nearby residents. The neighbors promptly notified the police about the distressing situation.
Local police arrived, broke the lock, and rescued the couple.
Malvi reported to the authorities that the thieves had fled with approximately 50 tolas of gold jewelry and Rs 4 lakh in cash, along with other valuables, which included three mobile phones.
Upon receiving the robbery report, SDPO Sunil Gupta and other officers promptly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. They managed to recover one of the stolen mobile phones, which was discovered discarded in a pile of garbage on a nearby bypass road.
A case has been officially registered based on Malvi's statement, and a thorough investigation is in progress. All police stations across the district have been alerted, and efforts are underway to locate the suspects,” stated SDOP Gupta to media representatives.
Dhar Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi further informed that a cyber team has been dispatched to aid in the investigation, and police units from all stations in the district have been mobilized to apprehend the culprits.
