New Delhi, July 19 (NationPress) In a significant breakthrough, the South West District Police have apprehended a 19-year-old interstate burglar linked to a high-profile house burglary case.
The individual, known as Sachin, hails from Amba village in Khargaon district, Madhya Pradesh, and was captured by a committed team from PS Sagarpur. Following his arrest, authorities successfully recovered 186 grams of stolen gold jewellery.
This case was initially filed on May 23, 2025, at PS Sagarpur after a local resident, Amit Gupta, reported a burglary at his home.
The complaint stated that approximately 500 grams of gold and Rs 20,000 in cash were taken when two men masquerading as lock repairmen gained entry into the residence under false pretenses. While the complainant and his wife were shopping nearby, his mother was home alone and permitted the men to enter. Exploiting the situation, the accused distracted her, accessed the almirah, and fled with the valuables.
Under the leadership of the SHO at PS Sagarpur and the supervision of the ACP, Delhi Cantt Sub-Division, a team was assembled, including SI Kapil Yadav, PSI Mukesh, Constables Anil, Rahul, and Lalit.
The police scrutinized numerous CCTV recordings, which indicated that the suspects utilized public transport and strategically attempted to evade detection by navigating through Tilak Nagar before arriving at the crime scene.
Police sources have confirmed that Sachin is a habitual criminal with a history of four previous burglary offenses. As per the press release from DCP South West District, Amit Goel, "The accused was born and raised in Amba village and dropped out of school after 5th grade. He gradually honed his skills in breaking locks and resorted to theft for easy financial gain."
The second suspect, identified as Aasan from Bhagwanpura, Madhya Pradesh, remains at large and is reportedly wanted by law enforcement in other states as well.
Ongoing investigations aim to locate the fleeing co-accused and retrieve the remaining stolen items.
