She expressed that it was a critical choice driven by financial necessity, marking a significant moment in television history.

A recently surfaced video on Instagram features her discussing this unique commercial venture. In the clip, Cox candidly revealed her financial struggles at that time, stating, 'I had no money, and any amount would have been a blessing for me. The year-long contract meant I could actually afford to eat.'

Moreover, Cox made television history as the first person to utter the word 'period' on air. 'I was the first to say the word period on TV, and it became a big deal. I even received fan mail from this commercial that no one expected to see,' she reflected.

Cox gained worldwide fame through her portrayal of Monica Geller in Friends and her role as Gale Weathers in the Scream horror franchise. Her acting repertoire extends to a recurring role in Family Ties and leading roles in Dirt, Cougar Town, and the horror-comedy series Shining Vale.
