Los Angeles, April 22 (NationPress) Music producer Deadmau5, who made his return to Coachella over the weekend at the Quasar stage, faced an embarrassing exit from the platform after indulging in too many drinks.

The Canadian DJ, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, shared a series of Instagram updates that included an apology for his actions and the acknowledgment that Coachella 2025 would likely be his final appearance, according to Variety.

Performing under his alias Testpilot, he was scheduled to share the stage with electronic music artist Zhu.

Reported by Variety, their set was intended to last for several hours, but it was abruptly ended after Deadmau5 was observed taking shots and slurring his words, eventually collapsing behind the DJ booth and being escorted off.

In a post on Instagram the following morning, the producer-DJ expressed that he didn’t “remember a thing,” but noted he also didn’t smoke a cigarette, which he had promised to quit just a week prior.

“I don't remember a thing. But I don’t think I had a cig? So… that’s good I guess? Going back to bed. Wake me up around Thursday-ish,” he stated alongside a picture of a water bottle. “Probably my last Coachella,” he added in a comment.

He also shared a photo of his cat, lamenting, “even my cat is disappointed in me.” “Sorry about last night,” he continued. “To be fair, I felt the first 3/4 was great! Huge shout out to @zhu for introducing me to whisky and carrying my dumb ass till the bitter end. lemme quit smoking, do some f*** (sic) personal resetting here at home, finding my spirit animal, working on some new music, and coming back better.”

Interestingly, Deadmau5 had previously mocked Grimes for her less-than-stellar performance at Coachella last year due to technical difficulties, sampling her remarks before diving into his own mixes.
