Defence Ministry Hosts Job Fair in Delhi for 850 Ex-Servicemen

New Delhi, March 20 (NationPress) More than 850 veterans and 42 prominent companies, both national and multinational, convened to discover 1,290 job openings across various industries during a job fair organized by the Defence Ministry on Friday, as reported by an official.
The event was facilitated by the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), part of the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare in the Ministry of Defence, at the Aravali Auditorium, Shankar Vihar Military Station, New Delhi.
The job fair was officially opened by Rear Admiral R.K. Singh, Project Director (P&A), HQ ATVP, alongside Cmde Vikrant Kishore, Principal Director of DGR.
Senior officials engaged with the participating veterans and corporate representatives, obtaining valuable insights into the changing job market and what industries expect from candidates.
Also in attendance were Cmde Sumeet Kapoor, NM, Cmde Naval Veterans, Brig Eshan Dalal, SM, and Naveen Patwardhan, Senior Vice President & HLE, CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd.
Key employers included Schneider Electric, GA Digital Web World Pvt Ltd, CemIndia Projects Ltd, KP Singh Foundation, and KCC Institute of Technology & Management, among other esteemed organizations.
This job fair represented a significant opportunity for ex-servicemen to demonstrate their technical, managerial, and administrative skills, while also allowing companies to connect with a disciplined and experienced workforce.
The event underscored DGR’s dedication to facilitating meaningful second careers for veterans and enhancing their integration into civilian employment.
A similar job fair was previously conducted by the Defence Ministry in Chandigarh on March 17.
These job fairs aim to connect ex-servicemen from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force with top employers from various sectors, including security, IT, administration, logistics, healthcare, and engineering, according to an official statement.
The DGR plans to hold 18 job fairs across different locations in India during FY 2025-26, following the successful completion of 17 such events in cities including Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kolkata, Secunderabad, Jammu, Bhopal, Kochi, Guwahati, Dehradun, Bengaluru, Pune, and Chandigarh.
