Chandigarh, March 6 (NationPress) The Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) of the Defence Ministry is set to host a significant job fair for ex-servicemen at the 12 Wing Air Force Station on March 17, as announced by an official on Friday.
During this event, ex-servicemen will have the opportunity to explore job openings in various sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, security services, administration, hospitality, and technical fields, according to a statement from the Indian Army's Western Command.
The job fair will commence at 7 a.m. at the Arjan Singh auditorium, and participants are advised to bring their I-Card along with five copies of their biodata.
The DGR highlighted that the fair will provide numerous advantages for industry employers, including complimentary online registration, free job postings, no charges for stall allotment, and free access to the resumes of ex-servicemen, as noted by the official on the social media platform X.
Earlier in January, the DGR organized a similar mega job fair for ex-servicemen at the Narangi Military Station in Guwahati, where over 50 prominent corporate entities participated, offering nearly 700 job vacancies across diverse sectors.
More than 700 ex-servicemen from Assam and surrounding regions attended the fair, engaging directly with recruiters and demonstrating the professional skills, discipline, and leadership qualities acquired during their military service.
The event featured Corporate Guest of Honour Major (Retd) Rupam Talukadar and Military Guest of Honour Lieutenant General Mohit Wadhwa, among others.
Both guests emphasized the significant attributes of ex-servicemen, including integrity, adaptability, and team leadership, which are greatly valued in the business landscape.
In attendance were Directorate General Resettlement Director General Major General S.B.K. Singh and Rajya Sainik Board Chairman Brigadier (Retd) Polash Choudhury, who reaffirmed the organization's dedication to ensuring dignified resettlement and long-term livelihood security for veterans.
Major General Singh remarked that the job fair exemplifies DGR's ongoing commitment to closing the gap between the extensive talent pool of ex-servicemen and the evolving manpower needs of the industry.
