Mumbai, Aug 5 (NationPress) Actor and producer Mukesh Khanna has shared insights regarding the long-awaited reboot of his iconic television series ‘Shaktimaan’. The adaptation is set to transform the show into a feature-length film.
In a recent conversation with IANS, the actor revealed that while the movie is prepared to captivate audiences, it has encountered a significant hurdle. Although his explanation regarding the delay was somewhat unclear, he assured fans that the film will eventually make its way to theaters, deeming it a crucial project.
In another discussion, Mukesh Khanna addressed actress Urvashi’s criticisms of the National Awards, particularly her remarks about Shah Rukh Khan receiving the Best Actor accolade.
Urvashi, recognized for her role in Malayalam cinema, won the National Award for 'Best Supporting Actress' for her work in ‘Ullozhukku’. She expressed concerns regarding the jury's fairness in bestowing SRK with such a prestigious honor.
During his interview with IANS, Mukesh Khanna commented that suggesting the National Award should have gone to a South Indian actor is politically charged.
He stated, “Those arguing that Shah Rukh Khan should have won for ‘Swades’ instead of ‘Jawan’ should consider that A. R. Rahman was awarded an Oscar for 'Jai Ho' and not for his many remarkable compositions in the past.”
“Shah Rukh Khan has dedicated 40 years to his craft, so what's the issue with him receiving a National Award?” he remarked.
Meanwhile, expressing his appreciation for his first National Award for Atlee's direction, SRK shared a heartfelt video message, stating, “They understand my deep passion for cinema, which sometimes pulls me away from them, but they support me wholeheartedly. A National Award signifies more than just achievement; it reminds me that my work holds significance. It motivates me to continue striving, creating, and contributing to cinema. In a world filled with distractions, being truly heard is a blessing.”
