New Delhi, Nov 22 (NationPress) Jasir Bilal Wani, the aide to Dr Umar Muhammad, the individual responsible for the Delhi blast, has submitted a request to the NIA court for authorization to consult with his legal representatives at the agency's headquarters, as reported on Saturday.
The NIA court in Patiala House is scheduled to review Wani's request today.
The NIA has labeled Jasir Bilal Wani as a key co-conspirator alongside the terrorist Dr Umar.
Wani was apprehended on November 17 in Srinagar.
The Patiala House Court ordered that Wani be held in NIA custody for ten days on November 18. The NIA presented Wani to the court as part of the investigation into the Delhi blast that resulted in 13 fatalities.
Investigations indicate that he allegedly offered technical support for executing terror operations. Wani reportedly played a role in modifying drones and was working on developing rockets prior to the catastrophic car bomb explosion.
A resident of Qazigund in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir, he is considered an active participant in the assault, having closely collaborated with Dr Umar Muhammad Nabi in orchestrating the attack.
The NIA is vigorously examining various aspects to unveil the complete conspiracy behind the bombing. Numerous teams from the anti-terror agency are exploring different leads and conducting searches across several states to identify all parties involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, law enforcement has established a connection to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) concerning the blast that occurred on November 10 near the renowned Red Fort in Delhi. Authorities learned that a JeM operative had instructed the accused in bomb-making techniques.
Another significant discovery is that the suspects were preparing to fabricate 200 bombs intended to detonate simultaneously in Delhi and other regions of North India. This was part of a broader strategy to execute bombings throughout various northern states, with the ISI reportedly selecting a JeM operative to train those involved in the Faridabad module.
Investigators have heightened their scrutiny of this terror module.
