Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested three members of a newly formed criminal outfit called 'Gangland' on the intervening night of 29-30 July 2026, foiling a suspected extortion plot targeting businesses across the National Capital Region (NCR). The arrested include alleged kingpin Kanha Singh Jadaul, alias Kanha Thakur, a 26-year-old originally from Mathura. Police recovered three firearms and eleven live cartridges from the accused.

How the Arrests Were Made

A team from the Special Cell/South-West Range (SWR), led by Inspector Manender Singh under the supervision of ACP SWR Puran Chandra Pant, laid a trap in the Dwarka area after receiving specific intelligence inputs. The three gang members were apprehended while travelling in a Scorpio vehicle, allegedly scouting for targets. Officers recovered one .30 bore automatic pistol loaded with five live cartridges and two single-shot pistols carrying one live cartridge each, totalling eleven live rounds.

Delhi Police subsequently registered FIR No. 178/2026 dated 30 July under Section 25 of the Arms Act at the Special Cell police station.

Who Is the Gangland Gang

According to investigators, the Gangland outfit was formed by Kanha Singh Jadaul and an associate identified as Bhushan from Mathura. The gang reportedly drew inspiration from fugitive gangster Rohit Godara and later became his followers. The group allegedly showcased criminal activities on social media platforms to build notoriety.

Police said the gang's modus operandi involved identifying vulnerable business targets in Delhi-NCR and carrying out firing attacks on offices or vehicles to instil fear and extort money. Intelligence indicated the members had arrived in Delhi specifically to scout targets before the arrests were made.

Profiles of the Three Accused

Kanha Singh Jadaul, 26, is a Mathura native who relocated to Jaipur with his family roughly 15 years ago. A graduate of Subodh College, Jaipur, he allegedly entered the criminal world during his college years. Police records indicate that in 2023, he and associates were allegedly involved in the contract killing of a man in Jaipur by deliberately hitting him with a vehicle. He faces multiple cases, including charges under the Arms Act and murder-related offences in Rajasthan.

Suraj, 24, a resident of Bharatpur district, Rajasthan, reportedly turned to crime following disputes over ancestral property. He voluntarily joined Kanha Singh Jadaul's outfit, according to police, and faces charges of attempt to murder, rioting, and Arms Act violations in Bharatpur.

Vallabha Charya, 30, also from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, worked as a gym trainer before opening a gym in Jaipur in March 2026. Investigators claim financial losses from his gym venture motivated him to seek quick money through criminal activities. He came into contact with Kanha Singh Jadaul through the fitness business and subsequently joined the gang.

Delhi Police stated the arrests have prevented several serious crimes, including planned extortion attempts and firing incidents across Delhi-NCR. This comes amid a broader pattern of organised gang networks — many with links to Rajasthan and Haryana — expanding their operational footprint into the capital. The Special Cell has been specifically tasked with tracking sharpshooters and gangsters involved in murder, extortion, and firing incidents.

Notably, the Gangland gang's alleged connection to the Rohit Godara network signals a growing trend of smaller outfits affiliating with established fugitive gangsters to gain operational credibility and protection. Investigators say further probe is underway to identify additional members and associates.
