Describing the incident, Farooq, Asif's brother, shared with IANS, "I witnessed several individuals in a confrontation with my brother. I attempted to intervene, and they briefly retreated. Shortly after, I went to a gathering, and just ten minutes in, I received a call informing me that my brother had been stabbed."
"My family took him to the hospital, but the doctors were unable to save him," he lamented.
Farooq added that the family is currently unaware of the identities of the attackers involved.
In the meantime, a forensic team has arrived at the site to gather evidence for the ongoing investigation. The body of the deceased has been transported to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The police have filed a case under FIR No. 129/26 at Bhajanpura Police Station, invoking relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Multiple teams have been mobilized to swiftly locate and apprehend the suspects.
