Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Dec 22 (NationPress) In a significant move towards transparent and efficient governance, the Delhi government is set to introduce DARPAN 2.0 – a sophisticated, unified performance-monitoring dashboard created by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), as announced by an official on Monday.
This platform, designed for real-time, analytics-driven performance insights, will equip decision-makers and various governmental departments with a comprehensive overview of essential schemes and services, facilitating quicker, evidence-based decisions, according to the statement from the official.
The initiative tackles the persistent issue of fragmented and inconsistent data across departments by unifying multiple Management Information Systems (MIS) into a singular, user-friendly interface, the statement noted.
It will include department-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), live progress monitoring, early-warning signals, and comparative analytics, thus fostering improved accountability and collaboration.
DARPAN, a successful centralized model, will be tailored for Delhi with priority schemes incorporated through secure APIs. The implementation will take place in phases over a duration of 12–16 weeks, culminating in extensive training for nodal officers from all departments, as per the statement.
Commenting on the centralized dashboard, Delhi IT Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh stated, “DARPAN 2.0 represents a revolutionary step towards accountable, data-driven governance in Delhi. By breaking down data silos and providing real-time insights into departmental efficacy, this platform will enable decision-makers to respond promptly and enhance service delivery.”
He further mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the government will utilize this tool to ensure that every scheme effectively and transparently reaches the populace.
The primary attributes of DARPAN 2.0 encompass: Enhanced governance via real-time performance insights, expedited decision-making, and improved inter-departmental cooperation; augmented accountability through KPI-based oversight and early identification of obstacles, leading to better service delivery.
