New Delhi, June 30 (NationPress) In an effort to enhance pollution management strategies, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has reinitiated the process of ensuring environmental compliance via redevelopment and consent mechanisms within 25 designated industrial clusters throughout the national capital, as announced by a Delhi minister on Monday.
The Minister for Industries, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, stated that these clusters are awaiting redevelopment approvals in accordance with the Master Plan of Delhi 2021 (MPD-2021).
The DPCC will now recommence the evaluation of Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) applications for these industrial zones in Delhi.
Sirsa mentioned that the enforcement of environmental regulatory provisions has resumed after being paused in 2023.
This initiative follows the Industries Department informing that new timelines for redevelopment are currently under consideration by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), with redevelopment in industrial regions set to proceed accordingly.
The Minister indicated that this initiative will facilitate the stringent enforcement of environmental regulations alongside essential redevelopment work.
“This is not merely an administrative approval — it is a blueprint for cleaner, greener, and compliant industries in Delhi. With the processing of consent applications underway, we are ensuring that no industrial activities evade environmental scrutiny. This represents a significant achievement under our Environment Action Plan 2025,” stated Sirsa.
The Minister also noted that the DPCC will oversee compliance with pollution control regulations, including effluent and water treatment, air and dust pollution management through modern suppression systems, plastic and e-waste management protocols, as well as monitoring noise pollution and hazardous waste regulations.
“Facilitating environmental compliance through redevelopment and consent mechanisms is not a mere one-time solution; it is an ongoing framework of accountability,” added Minister Sirsa.
This initiative marks a decisive and concentrated strategy by the Delhi Government to align industrial expansion with sustainability, conveying that environmental degradation will no longer be tolerated, he explained.
