New Delhi, March 1 (NationPress) An integrated Tri-Service Special Forces operation, known as Exercise Desert Hunt 2025, was executed by the Indian Air Force at Air Force Station Jodhpur from February 24 to 28, as confirmed by an official on Saturday.

This exercise saw the participation of elite Para (Special Forces) from the Indian Army, Marine Commandos from the Indian Navy, and the Garud (Special Forces) from the Indian Air Force, all engaging in a simulated combat setting.

The high-octane drill aimed to bolster interoperability, coordination, and synergy among the three Special Forces units, ensuring a rapid and effective response to emerging security threats.

Activities during the exercise included airborne insertion, precision strikes, hostage rescue, counter-terrorism operations, combat free falls, and urban warfare scenarios, all designed to test the combat readiness of the forces under realistic conditions.

Senior military officials oversaw the exercise to validate joint doctrines, providing a platform to reinforce the commitment of the Indian Armed Forces to enhance national security through seamless inter-service cooperation.

Earlier in the month, another military exercise took place in Rajasthan. The 3rd edition of Joint Special Forces Exercise CYCLONE was conducted at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges from February 10 to 23.

Exercise CYCLONE is an annual event held alternately in India and Egypt, with the last exercise conducted in Egypt in January 2024.

The Indian contingent, consisting of 25 personnel, was represented by troops from two Special Forces Battalions, while the Egyptian contingent, also comprising 25 personnel, was represented by the Special Forces Group and Task Force of the Egyptian Special Forces.

The goal of Exercise CYCLONE was to enhance military-to-military relations between the two nations through improved interoperability, jointness, and mutual exchange of special operations tactics. The exercise placed emphasis on a high level of physical fitness, joint planning, and tactical drills.

Aspects to be rehearsed included advanced special forces skills along with various tactics, techniques, and procedures in line with current operational paradigms.
