New Delhi, March 16 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has characterized the 21st century as the "Century of Asia," stressing the significant role the continent will play in determining global advancement.

According to PM Modi, the 21st century represents Asia, and harmonious relations between India and China are essential not only for mutual benefit but also for global stability and prosperity.

During a discussion with US podcaster Lex Fridman, PM Modi emphasized the deep cultural connections that unite the two nations, comparing their differences to familial disagreements—unavoidable yet manageable.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure these differences do not lead to conflicts, asserting that dialogue is critical to their diplomatic efforts.

PM Modi also remarked that the situation along the border has improved, marking a positive development in the pursuit of peace. He pointed out that while competition among nations is natural, it should not escalate into conflict. Instead, he advocated for fostering cooperation to promote peace and prosperity.

He reiterated that strong ties between India and China are not only advantageous for both countries but also vital for global stability. PM Modi stated that Asia's emergence in the 21st century is a pivotal moment, where collaboration among its countries is essential to realize its full potential.

Additionally, the Prime Minister reflected on the 2020 events, acknowledging that border clashes had strained India-China relations. However, he noted that his recent talks with President Xi Jinping at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, had restored normalcy at the border, with efforts underway to revert conditions to those prior to 2020.

He expressed hope for the future of the bilateral relationship, emphasizing the need to maintain and strengthen their connection. Recognizing that differences are a natural occurrence between neighboring nations, PM Modi underscored the priority of dialogue over discord.

According to him, only through transparent communication can a stable and cooperative relationship be established, benefiting both nations.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the shared heritage of India and China, highlighting their ancient cultures and civilizations. He noted the historical exchange of knowledge and understanding between the two nations, which has continually contributed to global advancement.

He referenced historical data indicating that there was a time when India and China collectively represented half of the world’s GDP, emphasizing the significant contributions both nations have made to the global economy.
