Moscow, Nov 19 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov convened in Moscow on Wednesday to assess the arrangements for the forthcoming Annual India-Russia Leaders Summit that is scheduled to take place in New Delhi next month.
In a post on X, EAM Jaishankar expressed, "It was a pleasure to meet First DPM Denis Manturov in Moscow this morning. We reviewed the advancements since our last meeting for the 26th IRIGC-TEC back in August 2025 and discussed the preparations for the upcoming Annual India-Russia Leaders Summit in New Delhi next month."
Russian President Vladimir Putin is anticipated to visit India in December for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit. His last visit to India occurred in December 2021 to attend the 21st edition of this significant meeting.
On Tuesday, EAM Jaishankar had an audience with Putin in Moscow, where he conveyed the greetings of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During their discussion, he briefed President Putin on the preparations being undertaken for the annual summit.
EAM Jaishankar shared on X, "I was honored to meet President Putin of Russia in Moscow today. I conveyed the warm greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and kept him updated on the preparations for the upcoming Annual India-Russia Summit. We also explored regional and global developments, valuing his insights and guidance for the enhancement of our bilateral ties."
During his meeting with Nikolai Patrushev, a senior aide to Putin, PM Modi expressed his eagerness to host Putin in India next month, extending his "warm greetings" to the Russian leader.
PM Modi later stated, "It was a pleasure to host Mr. Nikolai Patrushev, Aide to the President and Chairman of the Maritime Board of Russia. Our discussions were productive, focusing on maritime cooperation, including new collaboration opportunities in connectivity, skill development, shipbuilding, and the blue economy," as shared in a post on X.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) indicated that PM Modi also expressed his enthusiastic anticipation for welcoming President Putin in India next month. Patrushev additionally reviewed the ongoing preparations for the India-Russia Summit, set for early December during Putin's highly awaited visit to India.
