New Delhi, March 30 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu offered her heartfelt greetings to the citizens on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, which is set to be celebrated in India on Monday. She described this occasion as "a time to foster the spirit of empathy, compassion, and charity".
"On this blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I convey my best wishes to all Indians, both within the country and abroad, particularly to our Muslim brothers and sisters," she stated in a message issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday.
Highlighting that Eid-ul-Fitr signifies the conclusion of fasting and prayers during the sacred month of Ramzan, the President mentioned that this festival "reinforces the essence of brotherhood, cooperation, and compassion."
"This festival also enhances social bonding and motivates us to create a harmonious, peaceful, and prosperous society. Eid serves as a reminder to cultivate the spirit of empathy, compassion, and charity.

In Delhi and Lucknow, clerics confirmed the sighting of the moon on Sunday, marking the end of the month of Ramzan.
Naib Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid in Delhi, Syed Shaban Bukhari, announced: "The moon of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram for Eid al-Fitr has been sighted in various states across India, including Assam, Manipur, Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. It has been declared that Eid al-Fitr will be observed on Monday, March 31, 2025. I extend my heartfelt Eid Mubarak wishes to all of you.
