Meanwhile, security measures have been heightened across various regions in anticipation of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, as worshippers gather for prayers marking the end of Ramzan.
Clerics in India have announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, following the sighting of the crescent moon on Thursday evening. However, the festival was observed on Friday in Kerala.
In Uttarakhand, Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena stated that comprehensive security arrangements have been established due to the Eid-ul-Fitr festivities coinciding with the ongoing Chaitra Navratri.
"For today's 'Alvida Namaz', we are conducting flag marches in various locations and have deployed police personnel at all mosques. The district has been organized into sectors and zones. There are no issues reported anywhere," he stated.
"We are also monitoring for any potential anti-social activity," he added.
In Delhi's Uttam Nagar, a significant police presence was noted following a directive from the Delhi High Court, urging both police and civil authorities to ensure a secure and peaceful environment during the Eid festivities.
Concerns have been raised in the area since the tragic murder of 26-year-old Tarun Kumar during Holi celebrations on March 4.
