New Delhi, Feb 22 (NationPress) In a significant development, authorities have apprehended eight individuals connected to Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI and Bangladeshi terror groups for allegedly conspiring to execute terrorist activities against India, officials reported on Sunday.

The suspects were known to share content endorsing Pakistan-based terrorist organizations on social media platforms and were residing in India without valid documentation.

Initial reports indicated that six illegal Bangladeshi nationals were detained in Tamil Nadu, followed by two additional arrests in West Bengal.

All detainees are being transported to New Delhi for further investigation.

The arrests were carried out based on specific intelligence regarding inciting online behavior and suspected interactions with extremist factions operating from across the border.

According to officials, the arrested individuals were engaged in dubious activities, including reconnaissance of urban areas and displaying 'Free Kashmir' posters in New Delhi.

All eight were in communication with each other via social media. Of these, four traveled to Delhi and exhibited 'Free Kashmir' and other incriminating posters at metro stations during the India-AI Summit before returning to Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

A specialized team from Delhi Police's Q Branch, with assistance from local police in Tirupur, executed simultaneous raids at three locations, resulting in the apprehension of six individuals: Mijanur Rahman, Mohammad Shabat, Umar, Mohammad Litan, Mohammad Shahid, and Mohammad Ujjal.

Police sources stated that the arrests were made without any complications. During the operations, authorities confiscated eight mobile phones and 16 SIM cards.

Preliminary investigations revealed that these devices were reportedly used to disseminate content in support of designated terrorist organizations and to maintain contact with suspected operatives.

The seized items have been sent for forensic analysis to examine communication records and identify potential connections to broader networks.

Investigators noted that the six individuals had been residing and working in Tirupur for an extended period, primarily in garment manufacturing units in the Uthukuli, Thirumuruganpoondi, and Palladam regions.

Authorities revealed that the suspects were living in India without valid passports or visas.

There are also suspicions that forged Aadhaar cards were utilized by the detainees to secure jobs and housing.

Investigations are ongoing to evaluate the full scope of their activities and determine if they are part of a larger organized network.

Security agencies have heightened surveillance and verification protocols in the region as part of ongoing efforts to track suspicious activities.
