New Delhi, Feb 22 (NationPress) - Security agencies have successfully dismantled a significant terror conspiracy supported by the ISI, leading to the apprehension of eight individuals from West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.

The detained individuals are reportedly connected to terror factions in Bangladesh and have been receiving financial backing from the ISI, as discovered by the security forces.

Those arrested include Mizanur Rahman, Mohammed Shabat, Umar, Mohammed Litan, Mohammed Shahid, and Mohammed Ujjal.

The detentions occurred at a garment factory located in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. Notably, one of the individuals is a national from Bangladesh, according to police reports.

The suspects detained in Tamil Nadu are being transferred to the Delhi Police for further questioning. Initial investigations indicate that these individuals were plotting attacks across various regions in India.

This crackdown coincides with intelligence warnings about the ISI-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba attempting to establish local modules within the country to execute a wave of attacks.

Additional alerts have indicated a potential strike near the Red Fort. Following the arrests, law enforcement officials seized mobile phones and SIM cards.

The suspects had been actively promoting content on social media favorable to terror groups based in Pakistan. All detainees had concealed their true identities and were employed at the garment factory, utilizing counterfeit Aadhaar cards, as stated by the police. During the raids, authorities recovered eight mobile devices and 16 SIM cards.

In their efforts to aid the establishment of local modules for ISI-backed organizations, the suspects engaged in reconnaissance missions across several cities.

During an AI Summit, four of the suspects traveled to Delhi and displayed posters calling for a Free Kashmir, after which they returned to Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, according to police findings.

The police have indicated that these individuals communicated through social media platforms. The Delhi police are preparing to interrogate them regarding their affiliations with Bangladesh-based terror organizations and their connections to the ISI. Over the past few months, the ISI has been scheming attacks in India as part of a strategy to establish local modules to evade detection.

Pakistani terrorists stationed at launch pads along the India-Pakistan border have encountered challenges with infiltration. The ISI believes that creating local modules within India would be more effective. Moreover, such actions would afford Pakistan a degree of deniability if attacks were carried out with local assistance, an official remarked.

Another intelligence alert concerns a conspiracy to target temples in North India. The Delhi Police will interrogate the arrested individuals concerning this plot, seeking to determine the locations they have surveyed.

Plans to assault temples have been under consideration for several months, with the intent to instigate communal unrest, according to another official. This plot is reportedly overseen by the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The terror group has been actively recruiting and has even activated some of its operatives in the country to facilitate these activities. This operation was uncovered at a critical time when agencies have been cautioning about a conspiracy being devised in Bangladesh to execute terror attacks ahead of the upcoming elections in West Bengal.
