Kolkata, Nov 29 (NationPress) Twelve Bangladeshi nationals have been apprehended in Murshidabad district of West Bengal due to their suspected illegal residency in India.

Following a tip-off, law enforcement executed a raid in Gopalpur village within the Hurshi gram panchayat of the Islampur area. The raid led to the arrests of both the Bangladeshi nationals and the Indian facilitator.
According to police reports, the detained Bangladeshis lacked any valid documentation for their stay in India.
It has also come to light that these nationals had been residing in the village with Ali's assistance.
An investigation is underway to ascertain why these individuals entered West Bengal illegally and how long they have been residing there.
The names of the detained Bangladeshis include: Mohammad Aul (25), Abdul Khalek (38), Sumon Ali (30), Sukuddin (26), Khabir (19), Shahidul (35), Mohammad Sabbir (22), Mohammad Ziaurul Haque (38), Mazdar Ali (36), Mohammad Khairul (27), Mohammad Roni (23), and Ruhul Amin (34).
A senior officer of the Murshidabad district police stated, "Approximately 12 Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian have been apprehended. They will be presented in court today. We will seek a ten-day police custody. An investigation is also underway to determine if anyone else accompanied them and if others are hiding nearby. We aim to uncover how they entered the country and how long they have been here."
