EOU Investigates Three Question Paper Leak Incidents in Bihar This Year: Official

Patna, Dec 21 (NationPress) The year 2024 has indeed underscored significant issues surrounding question paper leaks in Bihar, revealing a critical problem in the state's recruitment and examination systems.

A total of three question paper leak incidents took place in Bihar, including the BPSC Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE) Phase 3. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU), which acts as the central agency for investigating these leaks, has apprehended 295 individuals, marking it as the largest crackdown of the year.

Additionally, the NEET UG Paper Leak occurred in May this year, resulting in the arrest of 15 individuals connected to this case.

The Community Health Officer (CHO) Recruitment Examination paper was also compromised, leading to the arrest of 36 individuals by the EOU for their roles in this incident.

The EOU has conducted extensive investigations into all these occurrences.

In addition to the cases from 2024, the EOU has continued to pursue previous investigations. This year alone, at least 14 arrests were made concerning the constable recruitment question paper leak.

This particular leak transpired in 2023. The EOU also made 18 arrests related to the 67th BPSC question paper leak, which occurred in 2022.

With the introduction of new criminal laws effective from July 1, 2024, Bihar has become the first state in India to deliver a life imprisonment sentence in just 50 days under these new regulations, showcasing expedited judicial processes.

This significant case involved a murder in the Rasulpur police station area of Saran district.

Following the enforcement of three new criminal laws, the Bihar Police initiated a comprehensive training program in the state, training 1,040 officers. Furthermore, 76 officers were sent for training programs outside Bihar.

Over 25,000 police personnel, ranging from those who graduated from the Police Training College to Deputy Inspector Generals, underwent training on the new laws.

Staff from the Forensic Science Laboratory also received training at the National Forensic Science University in Delhi and the Central Detective Training Institute in Ghaziabad.
