New Delhi, Sep 9 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and numerous other prominent leaders expressed their heartfelt congratulations to C.P. Radhakrishnan after his election as the Vice President of India on Tuesday.
In a post on X, President Murmu remarked: “Congratulations to Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan on being elected as the Vice President of India! Your extensive experience in public service will be invaluable to the nation’s advancement. I wish you a successful and impactful term.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Radhakrishnan as a leader committed to uplifting the underprivileged.
“Congratulations to Thiru C.P. Radhakrishnan Ji on winning the 2025 Vice Presidential election. His life has been dedicated to serving society. I have no doubt he will be an exceptional VP, who will uphold our Constitutional values and enhance Parliamentary discussions,” the PM shared.
Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted Radhakrishnan’s journey from the grassroots level and his administrative expertise.

Radhakrishnan, who currently serves as the Governor of Maharashtra, won with 452 first-preference votes, defeating opposition candidate Justice (Retd) B. Sudarshan Reddy, who garnered 300 votes.
With his election, Radhakrishnan is now the 15th Vice President of India and will also assume the role of Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
