New Delhi, Aug 17 (NationPress) Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan on Sunday expressed profound appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and Chief Ministers Chandrababu Naidu and Devendra Fadnavis after being nominated as the National Democratic Alliance’s candidate for the Vice Presidential election.
In a series of messages on X, Radhakrishnan stated he was "moved and touched beyond words" by the faith shown in him by the NDA leadership.
"My heartfelt gratitude to our beloved People’s leader, our most esteemed Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji, our most revered Honourable Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji, BJP President Shri @JPNadda Ji, parliamentary board members, NDA partners, and ministers for selecting me as their Vice-Presidential candidate. I promise to serve the Nation diligently until my last breath. Jai Hind!" he said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while congratulating Radhakrishnan, characterized him as a seasoned parliamentarian and administrator. "Your contributions as a parliamentarian and governor of various states have significantly aided in fulfilling constitutional duties. I am confident your extensive experience and wisdom will elevate the prestige of the Upper House and set new milestones," Shah shared on X, expressing gratitude to PM Modi and the BJP parliamentary board for their decision. Radhakrishnan responded with appreciation for the Home Minister, referring to him as a "beloved and respected people’s leader."
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu also endorsed the announcement, hailing Radhakrishnan as a "senior statesman who has served the nation with distinction for a long time." He emphasized that the Telugu Desam Party "warmly welcomes his nomination and pledges full support."
