This figure represents a 9.14 percent increase in net payroll additions for June compared to the preceding month, May. Additionally, a year-on-year analysis shows a 13.46 percent growth in net payroll additions in June relative to the same month last year, indicating enhanced employment opportunities and greater awareness of employee benefits, driven by the EPFO’s successful outreach efforts.
During June, the EPFO enrolled approximately 10.62 lakh new subscribers, which signifies a 12.68 percent increase over May and a growth of 3.61 percent compared to June 2024, reflecting the rise in job prospects.
A striking feature of the data is the substantial representation of the 18-25 age group. The EPFO added 6.39 lakh new subscribers in this demographic, accounting for a notable 60.22 percent of all new subscribers added in June. The new subscribers in this age bracket show an increase of 14.08 percent compared to May.

This aligns with the ongoing trend that suggests most newcomers to the organized workforce are young individuals, mainly first-time job seekers.
Approximately 16.93 lakh members who had previously left rejoined the EPFO in June this year. This figure shows a 5.09 percent increase over May and a significant 19.65 percent year-over-year growth compared to June 2024. These individuals switched jobs and rejoined organizations covered under EPFO, choosing to transfer their savings instead of seeking final settlement, thereby ensuring long-term financial stability and extending their social security benefits, as per the official statement.
