Jammu, March 16 (NationPress) In celebration of the auspicious Navratri festival, Northern Railways has announced the addition of an extra third AC coach to the Jammu Rajdhani Express to accommodate the expected influx of devotees visiting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

According to Northern Railway officials, "Given the anticipated surge in passenger numbers, particularly those seeking 'Darshan' at the sacred Mata Vaishno Devi shrine during Navratri, the Jammu Division will include an additional third AC (3AC) coach on Train No. 12426, the Jammu-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, from March 16 through 20."

"This initiative, guided by Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar, is intended to enhance the travel experience for pilgrims during this significant festival," officials stated.

"The addition of this coach is expected to alleviate the waiting list during Navratri and improve the chances of securing confirmed tickets for travelers."

Previously, an additional 3AC coach was also added to Train No. 12426 on March 13, 14, and 15, and this facility will continue from March 16 to 20, officials remarked.

Each journey will now feature approximately 72 extra berths, providing more options for passengers.

Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, noted, "Our main goal is to ensure that travelers can book confirmed tickets during the revered Navratri festival while enjoying a safe and comfortable journey."

"The newly added coach boasts modern amenities and adheres to safety standards. We are closely monitoring passenger traffic at stations throughout the festive period," he added.

"We will continue to implement such measures in the future based on passenger demand. Devotees and travelers are encouraged to verify seat availability and the current status of the train through the IRCTC website or the Railway Helpline at 139," stated Raghvender Singh, Public Relations Inspector of Northern Railways Jammu Division.
