As of now, law enforcement has successfully recovered Rs 19 lakh, while Rs 3.5 lakh remains unaccounted for.

This incident took place during the late hours of December 29 and 30.

The victim reported that two young men approached him, asserting they were police personnel.

Both were clad in khaki jackets, which misled the victim into believing in their authenticity.

The suspects, identified as Dipak Kumar and Raja Kumar, coerced him into a room, threatened him, and made off with Rs 22.5 lakh before escaping.

Following the robbery, the victim filed a report at the Patna Junction police station.

In response to the complaint, police commenced an investigation under the guidance of Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar Sinha.

Utilizing technical surveillance and CCTV evidence, authorities identified one suspect as a resident of Khusrupur.

During questioning, the first suspect disclosed details about his accomplice, who resides near Patna Junction.

Investigators also found that the suspects stored a contact number in their phones labeled Government Railway Police (GRP) to falsely portray themselves as law enforcement.

“Through technical tracking, both suspects were located and apprehended. Subsequent searches led to the recovery of Rs 9.5 lakh from each suspect, totaling Rs 19 lakh,” stated Kumar.

Authorities suspect that the remaining Rs 3.5 lakh might have been concealed or discarded, and efforts to recover it are ongoing.

Police are currently interrogating both suspects to determine if others were complicit in the crime.

In the meantime, the Patna Police have urged the public to verify the credentials of anyone claiming to be a police officer and to report any suspicious behavior to the nearest police station.
