Following the robbery, the victim filed a report at the Patna Junction police station.
In response to the complaint, police commenced an investigation under the guidance of Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar Sinha.
Utilizing technical surveillance and CCTV evidence, authorities identified one suspect as a resident of Khusrupur.
During questioning, the first suspect disclosed details about his accomplice, who resides near Patna Junction.
Investigators also found that the suspects stored a contact number in their phones labeled Government Railway Police (GRP) to falsely portray themselves as law enforcement.
“Through technical tracking, both suspects were located and apprehended. Subsequent searches led to the recovery of Rs 9.5 lakh from each suspect, totaling Rs 19 lakh,” stated Kumar.
Authorities suspect that the remaining Rs 3.5 lakh might have been concealed or discarded, and efforts to recover it are ongoing.
Police are currently interrogating both suspects to determine if others were complicit in the crime.
In the meantime, the Patna Police have urged the public to verify the credentials of anyone claiming to be a police officer and to report any suspicious behavior to the nearest police station.
The Rail Police has reached out to the Income Tax department to investigate this case.
